I’m Engaged!

I am so so excited for this new chapter! My Fiance proposed on March 19th and, for anyone who hasn’t seen, I said the biggest and easiest “YES!!” I’ve ever said. Since then he has left on deployment, I have built two new websites, booked more clients, and got details ready for wedding planning. This is the first time I’ve had a chance to sit down and truly type out everything that happened that day. I’m so excited to catch you all up!! Plus, this blog serves as a “diary” for me to come back and read in the years to come!

The Proposal:  We haven’t actually known each other that long! We met in September of 2020 and started dating November 2020. Let me give you a quick run down. From the very start, we knew that there was a possibility for him to be deployed or re-stationed. I have always said I would never date a military guy for this reason. However, when I saw his Bumble profile something told me to message him. Right before Christmas he gave me the news that he would be re-stationed in the Spring. I was so upset. Something in me thought that he would be with me for forever and in that moment I realized that was not the case. At New Years, we went on a little weekend trip to visit his best friend and this was the first time he mentioned anything about marriage to me. At first I was like, “Is he serious? We have only been together 2 months!” What’s funny is my mom told me before I left on the trip that she thought he would mention something about it. I wasn’t sure how to act ( I was totally down in the inside) because I thought he might be joking. As time goes by and he keeps showing me rings and houses. Fast forward to March 17th, we went with my family to North Ga for vacation. Little did I know that him and my mom had something up their sleeves.

I woke up on March 19th and we all got up to go to a petting zoo. We had an entire day planned out including dinner my mom gave us reservations to (this made me raise an eyebrow – but I ended up being surprised anyways!). If I would have thought about it I probably would have figured it out. There was several key things leading up to this such as my mom making me get my nails done, getting a new outfit, and even hiding her phone!

After the petting zoo we all went to a cute cafe for lunch.  After lunch I needed to go back to the AirBnB so I could get ready. I spent a few hours getting ready and then we were finally done. We stepped out, took a few self phone photos, and headed out.

We drove to our “reservation” ( I was not aloud to see where we were going), talked about the day, listened to music. I was completely clueless. We arrived to Yonah Mountain Vineyards and he was texting my mom on where we were supposed to park and where to enter the building. Little did I know he had already picked the perfect spot! He played it off so well!! He literally showed no signs of nervousness! We walked up through the middle of the building and I spot the outdoor fireplace. It was set up with candles, rose petals, wine, and Christmas lights. He said we should go look and I was like no no no! I thought it was someones ceremony spot and I didn’t want to ruin it! I kind of wondered if it was for me but knew it was too good to be true. We walked up and I had ZERO idea that there was a photographer and videographer waiting for us behind the bushes! He pointed to something across the lawn and next thing I know he was down on one knee!!

As he went down on one knee I said, “No you are not!” He nodded his head and said, ” Will you marry me?” He was almost crying and I was almost crying as I of course said “Yes!” I was literally in shock!! I’ve never said YES so fast in my life!! There was so much adrenaline that everything seemed like a blur for a while. He got up and we hugged, kissed, and danced before the photographer started to pose us for images. He did everything just like I told him I imagined my engagement day ( with help from my mom). I spent the rest of that evening calling him my Fiance over and over.

After we got our pictures taken we went to dinner. He surprised me with going to Chateau Elan. It was a great dinner and I couldn’t stop asking him questions about how he planned it all. I spent the rest of that evening telling my family back at the AirBnB about the night and in the morning FaceTiming all of our friends and family. I truly feel like the luckiest girl in the entire world. I couldn’t of asked for a better proposal or guy. I’m going to do a separate posts about planning and things but for now, here are the amazing proposal photos!
